Dedicated Servers
The minimum rental period is 1 calendar month and the rental fee is non-refundable. Your credit card will be billed when you make an online payment. When your server has been paid for in full, we are notified to fulfil your order. Your rental period will not start until the day we give you access to your server. The current average waiting period is 0 days from completion of your order.
Users are permitted to run any combination of game process on their server with as many player slots as they choose*. vault5 will include the necessary files for the chosen games upon completion of the vault5 order form. The user is responsible for ensuring that they have permission to use any mods or maps used on their server by vault5 support via email or mIRC.
The server may not be used for commercial purposes, nor is the server not to be named offensively or in a way to reflect a commercial organisation. The gaming server is for the sole purpose of hosting game processes. vault5 servers, however, may also run voice comms - not exceeding 18 players for guaranteed performance - although you may use as many as you like (up-to a maximum of 64) at your own risk. You may also use any plugins and anti-cheat software or accessories you like, excluding realtime logging to another PC or any software that involves transmitting data in addition to that normally used by a 36 player server.
v5-servers may not be used to host files, downloads or the like, this includes the uploading of any files, images or software not directly associated with the running of the game processes. any such abuse of the v5-Server will result in service being suspended and the forfeiture of outstanding rental payments.
v5-Servers have access to a local ftp site where updates and the like may be downloaded from at will. vault5 will maintain this local site so that upon release all files are readily available. vault5 will also make available any other required files at this site as requested by v5-Server owners on the clanserver forum or by tech support email request.
All software pre installed on your server is licensed by vault5. Any additional software you install is fully your responsibility and you are responsible for ensuring it is properly licensed and you have permission to use it. If in doubt contact vault5 administration or the software vendor.
vault5 Dedicated Servers are debranded, with the exception of the MOTD text (where available) which must include the following - "Powered by a vault5.com v5-Servers".
In addition to adhering to the above MOTD convention clans will also include a 88x31 'powered by v5-Server' link button (linking back to http://www.vault5.com) on their clan-homepage (irrespective of whether or not they have chosen the debranding option). this is non negotiable, do not rent one of our ÜberServers™ if you have an issue with including our button on your site.
Clans will have one weeks notice before the end of their rental in which to re-new their contract before their server is reallocated. Hence you will have the option to keep your server without any interruption to service.
